Here is one of mine.

Southern Succotash

4 Bacon Slices
1 Onion, peeled and chopped
1 Garlic glove, peeled and minced
1 1/2 c. diced zucchini
1 c peeled, seeded, and chopped tomatoes
1 small green pepper, cored, seeded, and diced (about 1/2 c)
2 c fresh corn kernels (can use frozen kernel corn, but thaw and drain)
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried hot red pepper flakes
salt and pepper
1/2 c heavy cream

Cook the bacon in a saucepan until it is crips and has rendered its fat. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels.
Add the onion and garlic to the pan and fry in the bacon fat until softened but not brown. Drain off the excess fat, then add the tomatoes, green pepper, zucchini, corn, oregano, pepper flakes and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Crumble the bacon and add to the vegetable misture with the cream. Bring to a boil and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste to adjust the seasoning and serve hot.

I need the BT neck on my druid and I know a fair number of people from Already Dead and anyone who got started late in the game or is changing mains could use the neck. And I know you are thinking "but we won't be doing BT after this week, so why bother?" I WILL TELL YOU WHY!

Because it ports you to SMV which is a 2min flight to Shatt from ANYWHERE... like NORTHREND for example. So it would be a great way for you to "hearth" to shatt in the outlands without having your hearth set there.

So, let's signup for Wednesday night. My goal is to go into SSC and kill Karathress via either Leo or Tidewalker depending on our group makeup. I know some people want to kill Vashj, so we can stop by her place and 1 shot her after Karathress. Then we can head over to TK rq (after everyone turns in quest stuff) and kill A'lar.

Saturday, I am running Hyjal where we will kill Rage so you can finish off the chain there and obtain your neck. So... sign-up:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/...opean.html

As someone who will be living with the direct consequences of the election, without any input in to the decision process (it could be argued that the entire world will), I found the above article and responses rather interesting.

I'm all for differences and allowing people to make their own decisions, but I would much prefer to see the reasoning and not rhetoric and finger-pointing.

The BBC world site is fabulous for getting reader comments from around the world and that microcosm never fails to astound me.

It's entertaining that each country seems to consider everyone else "different", rather than viewing the similarities first and the variants afterwards. Perhaps that's what's so wrong with the world today.

If we had another world war break out, how do you think the sides would shape up?

Here's a 2nd BBC discussion forum for you to consider - http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.j...1103170336

Yet again, I think the vast majority of people who comment on HYS are ingrained with their own cultural bias.

Traditionally African states have been governed by European countries. It's like telling an 18 year old to go out and vote. Some are very mature for their age, well-read and understand the magnitude of the process they are undertaking. Others shouldn't be out of short pants, let alone trusted to do anything as radical as think. Apply that same distinction to much of Africa. Then add in the prejudicial media reporting, the unprincipled supply of weaponry from Western (so-called "civilised, developed" countries) states, the lack of guidance from established global powers (we make all the right noises but there's so little evidence of any real, meaningful input) and you have a potent, volatile brew just waiting to explode.

I'm not sure there is a solution that will work for the world while we are unable to stop viewing difference as a threat. While we work towards eradicating racial prejudice, perhaps we should aim for erasing a fear of difference on a grander scale.
