This one made me ROFL.  It's funny cuz it's true.

Nor me!

Personally I'd probably draw the line at Osama bin Ladin :P but the point that RL's need a strong pragmatic, unsentimental streak is a good one. Overall a nice rant about the challenges of recruiting and maintaining a raiding team.

Got a chuckle out of , "When I announced that were were no longer doing Gruul’s lair as a scheduled raid so we could focus on Vashj and Kael, every warrior, rogue, and hunter who hadn’t gotten a Dragonspine Trophy yet threated to slash their wrists." Luckily I managed to get one myself before we moved on to T5 content, for the trinket is still used in T6+, it's that OP.

I want to know if Sibelle has ever gotten this excuse before.

OK, so it finally worked for me... yay..

I started wondering if it wasn't mart from our old guild, only he doesn't have that kind of time.  Plus, this guild started working on Illidan in early October.. so idk who the guy is.

RE: The shallow end of the recruiting pool.

There's maybe 100 players on a given high-pop server that are truly able to sustain high-end raiding.

If you don't have 25 of those guys/gals out of the starting gate on Thursday, you have to hope for the best with cross-server xfers and/or handholding.  For non-elite guilds, the rub is in the first 2-4 weeks of the expansion.  All your best recruits will be from finding standouts in 70-80 five-man instance grinding.  Go out into the new instances in packs of 2 or 3 and fill the other slots with PuGs.  The ones that don't suck, slip 'em the line.  See if they bite.  After everyone's 80, it's like the article alluded -- next to impossible to find competent players who aren't already guilded.
