Veep debate

Consider watching the debate of the vice presidential candidates tonight.  It could be kind of important.

This is the year to get involved, understand the issues, take a stand, and VOTE.  There's a lot at stake.  You don't have a raid to attend, so what's your excuse anyway???

RE: Veep debate

The Canadian debate was much more exciting AND it comes in two languages!

Palin brought up Biden's previous support of McCain and Palin admitted agreeing with Obama and not McCain on some issues.  Goes both ways.  Different sides of the same coin and a matter of choosing which side is best.

Since everyone is sliding in their political views:
I am dressing up as Sarah Palin for halloween for ironys sake since my beliefs are QUITE opposite of hers, lols will be had.

I vote Ellen DeGeneres for President!

RE: Veep debate

I thought it made for an interesting couple of hours.  Palin was better coached than I thought she would be.  She still had to use the dodge of completely changing the subject when she couldn't answer the question a number of times, but really, better than I expected.

I don't know her well so I was wondering if her choice of words, pronunciation, colloquialisms and constant "hockey mom" type comments were an affectation, playing on her strength, or if they were genuine.  But listening to "people on the street" interviews the day after, the basis of her appeal came through loud and clear: people saw her as one of them, able to understand their pain.

Personally, I want someone in office who is able to understand my issues, but is a whole hell of a lot smarter than me!!!  I do NOT one someone in office "like me" :p

RE: Veep debate

ROFL Siaun.  Good luck with that....

Funny little "Dur" moment on Obama's part.

Another Dur

Looks like all of them have there moments.....lol  Duh

Not that this means anything, but it really does make one wonder how that could be mispoken when it is ingrained in our heads since we are toddlers.  lol  Beware of ALL politicians.....

(And don't worry I know this goes both ways.  Seen my share of McCain ones as well.)

RE: Veep debate

I was surprised Palin wasn't drilled on some on her views that are quite controversial.  From charging rape victims around 2k for rape kits, the non-exsistance of dinosaurs, praying away the gay, getting rid of the right to privacy, and leaving her town in dept.  The others (VP and Pres candidates) have skeletons in their closet to but not as mean spirited as hers IMO.
I am kind of socially leftist but economically right in some ways.  Gay rights, women's rights, health care, environment, and economy are the things I vote for.

RE: Veep debate

Yeah, that describes me pretty well too Cab.  A few of those points could have been explored, the closest they got was a discussion on rights for domestic partners, where Palin was pretty fuzzy and Biden very specific on support.

Of course, Palin has a tendency to be a bit fuzzy when the questions are tough...
