RE: LHC experiment

Yes, I have seen a couple of different versions of this article.  It interesting  to think that we might engineer and experiment ourselves right off the planet.

Ok Fatal... you've distracted me long enough... I need to get back to my even moreso embarrassingly nerdy practices such as watching "I survived a Japanese Game Show"

RE: LHC experiment

I think its pretty neat.  From what I have been told and read the chances of a 'doomsday' is just not gonna happen.  Mini-black holes, straglettes, giant explosions, and Chuck Norris coming out of it is just not gunna happen.  They have been building this thing for almost 20 years I think.  Even if somehow, lets say, a black hole was created it would be so small it would essentially die.  Same thing with Chuck Norris.  RIP Chuck.
Its big, shiny, and scary looking so its no wonder some people will fear monger and scare people with it.  When I first heard about it I was like 'OOOOHSSHIIIII' but after reading different points of views I side on the machine's side.
More knowledge on interesting things that are so far just mathematical theories coming to light is exciting.
Particle accelerators are already in use anyway.  Of course, on a much smaller scale.

If we do explode.  Well, slap me silly and call me Sally...but you can't....cause you are exploded...

RE: LHC experiment

I love physics, since I'm a geophysicist, so yeah I've been following this closely.

The scaremongering that some people do is just hilarious! It's people who are afraid of science making comments like that.

PS: In before the Higgs Boson. My money is on "Does not exist".

"What possible reason would they have for saying that unless they believed it to be true? Do they have some alt level 79 priest waiting in the wings, just waiting to spring its POH world domination on Azeroth?"
-Feedback, level 1 priest alt on top Shamans confirming they still have raid spots.

RE: LHC experiment

I'm watching.

Watching for the Black Hole that will swallow the Earth, haha.

Kidding aside, this huge international project (Canada made the magnetic components) should allow us to go where no physicist has gone before, down, down into the rabbit hole...
