General Guild Rules

PART I   GENERAL GUILD RULES

Section 1    GENERAL RULES

i. All players belonging to the Fatal Guild are expected to conduct themselves in a reasonably professional manner and refrain from overtly disrespectful, disruptive and/or derogatory actions or words both towards fellow Guild Members and the general public. Or, as our Guild Founder, Zoppins, puts it, "Don't be an Asshole".

ii. Dispute Mechanism - Players who experience difficulties with another Guild Member especially in relation to the above rule (§1, i) may initiate action in the following manner:

   a) Speak to the person concerned and attempt to resolve any differences privately.
   b) Failing a), above, speak to your Class Leader, or, failing that, a Guild Officer.
   c) If no resolution is forthcoming, use the "Submit an Issue" link on the front page of the website.
All issues that are submitted can only be viewed by a Guild Officer, and such issues may be left
       anonymously if required.

iii. Sanctions - Players unable to meet the requirements of (i) above and after action has been taken as described in (ii) above, may be subject to some or all of the following sanctions:

   a) Temporary suspension from Guild Activities
   b) Demotion in Guild Rank
   c) Dismissal from the Guild

iv. Inviting Alts - Players wishing to have an Alternative Character (Alt) invited to the Guild must, for security purposes, request the invite from their Main Character stating the name of the Alt, then re-log to that Alt for an invite. Please see the General Guild Rules, Section 3, and Raid Rules, Section 3 for more information on Alts.

v. Bank Requests - The Guild Bank is a collective pool of resources for use by Guild Members, in particular for use by Raiders. There are several Bank Tabs: your access to the tabs may vary depending on your position and/or rank within the Guild. If an item is needed and can be accessed, players are free to take the item, however, note that there is an item withdraw limit, which varies according to your Guild Rank. If the item is in an inaccessible part of the Bank (such as Crafting Mats), then a request must be submitted in the appropriate thread in the Private Guild Forum. Note that all Guild Bank transactions are logged and monitored.

Section 2   GUILD HIERARCHY

§1a    Leadership Positions

i. Guild Leader. The ultimate arbiter of all things concerned with Guild operations and relations, the Guild Leader (GL) provides the focus and leadership necessary to carry the Guild forward.

ii. Officer. Assists the GL in Guild Operations and Administration, including Personnel, Recruitment, leading or assisting with Raids, and other Guild affairs as delegated by the GL.

iii. Raid Leader. The Raid Leader organizes, assembles, drafts, and provides the leadership needed to succeed in Raids. Typically this person will also be the GL, Officer or Class Lead, but if not, they are granted full plenipotentiary powers by the GL. Additional information on this demanding position can be found in the Raid Leader Forum.

v. Type Leader. A Type Leader (TL) is typically also a GL, RL, Officer or CL that are, where appropriate, responsible for a set of Classes conforming to a particular type. These are Tanking, Melee, Ranged, and Healing.

v. Class Leader. Class Leaders (CL) are responsible for players of their respective Class and ensure that their charges are using an appropriate set of consumables, rotations, gear loadout and build for the circumstances, and acts as a point of contact for the GL and Officers. Additional information available in the Class Leader Forum.

§1b Operational Positions

i. Raider. This designation is conferred upon players who have demonstrated the skill, gear, teamwork, availability and commitment that is required to participate in 10- or 25-player Raid instances. The Raider designation is conditional upon maintaining certain standards, and as such, players may be temporarily or permanently removed from the position. There are two ways to achieve Raider status, see below.

ii. Member. Simply put a Member is a non-raider; a player who for whatever reason is unwilling or unable to meet the demanding expectations of the Raider position. This category also comprises “irl” friends and family: these invitations are at the discretion of the GL and Officers. Members may also be promoted to Raider status also at the discretion of the GL and Officers if they work to meet the appropriate standards.

iii. Initiate. An Initiate is a player who has been given a conditional invite to the Guild for the purposes of evaluation. The Initiate period lasts a minimum of two (2) weeks, after which an Initiate Review is conducted to determine if the candidate has merited a promotion to Raider. Players who fail the Initiate process will be removed from the Guild or if they have applied as a Raider, be accepted as a regular Member at the discretion of the GL.

iv. Alts. Every player belonging to the Guild must declare a Main Character. This category comprises Alternate Characters. There is no limit to the number of Alts that a player may have, but we ask that it be kept to a reasonable level, such as a maximum of three. For security reasons, invites for Alts must be asked for on the player’s Main. Alts are subject to other restrictions, see below.

§1c Administrative Positions

i. Recruitment Officer. The Recruitment Officer or Officers (RO) are responsible for  scouting new Applicants, assisting their progress through the Application and Initiate process, and reporting to the GL and Officers on their progress, with input from the appropriate CL. The RO is also responsible for starting and maintaining Recruitment posts in the appropriate Blizzard Forums.

ii. Website Administrator. The Website Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and management of the Guild website, which includes providing and removing access permissions as appropriate.

iii. Website Moderator. Typically an Officer or CL, the Moderator is responsible for ensuring inappropriate posts are dealt with, and generally ensuring a quality website experience for all players.
