Loot Rules

PART III    LOOT RULES

Section 1   DKP SYSTEM

The Fatal Guild uses the standard DKP System (Dragon Kill Points) whereby players that regularly come to Raids have first choice of loot. This system ensures that the looted item has a higher chance of being used in the next raid, which is to the benefit of all. DKP can be won, and lost, in various ways, listed below. When a player uses DKP to win an item, their DKP total is reset to zero. (modified by Rule viii, below)

i. Players will earn 10 or 20 DKP points for being present during a boss kill, 10 points for a regular boss, 20 for a more difficult one, and 40 for a first-time boss kill. Values for each boss are determined by the GL and may change without notice.

ii. Players who have signed up but are not drafted are encouraged to be on the Wait List, where they will earn 25% of the DKP earned by the Raid for being available as a backup. Wait Listed players must be on-line and ready to raid at raid start time and remain on line for at least 15 minutes, but may otherwise conduct other business.

iii. Any players who are called in to the Raid as a replacement will earn full DKP along with the rest of the Raid, even earning DKP on bosses for which they were not present for.

iv. If the Raid is working on an undefeated boss, each player will earn 10% of first-kill DKP (4 DKP). Bosses on farm will award 10 DKP (20 for First Kill) will give 2 DKP per wipe, bosses who will normally give 20 DKP (40 for First Kill) will give 4 DKP per wipe, until first kill is achieved.

v. If a player is a “no-show” (signed up but does not show up, nor contact the appropriate persons, see Raid Rules, Section II,ii) he or she may lose DKP based on their status within the Guild. Amount of DKP to be deducted is at the discretion of the Raid Leader, Guild Leader, or other Guild Officers.

vi. If a player wins an item and wishes to roll for subsequent items,  they may continue to roll (a roll of 1-1 for Main Spec, and 2-2 for Offspec) and may loot items so long as no other player wishes to spend DKP on it. If both players wanting the item have won an item previously that night, then a separate roll-off is conducted.

vii. The rolling procedure is as follows. Players note their current DKP and when the item is presented by the RL, the player rolls, modified by DKP. So if Player One has 250 DKP, Player Two has 75 DKP, and Player Three has 0 DKP, Player One will type “/roll 250-250”, Player Two will type “/roll 75-100” and the unforunate Player Three will simply make an unmodified roll of “/roll 1-100”. In the event of a tie, the players concerned will have a roll-off of 1-100 for a tiebreaker. Whoever wins this roll, wins the item.

viii. The minimum amount of DKP a Player can spend on an item is 50. The maximum amount of DKP a Player can spend on an item is capped at 400. A 1-100 roll off will take place if more than 1 player has the max or min cap.

Section 2    GENERAL LOOT RULES

i. Players may not roll on an item in a Raid until it is presented for rolling by the RL.

ii. Fake or joke rolls are not tolerated.

iii. Items desired for a player’s “off-spec” may be secured at a discounted DKP price; interested players will roll 1-50 with the highest roll winning, and 50 DKP will be deducted from the player’s total. The item may be lost to the player if another rolls full DKP on the item. Raiders are encouraged to only secure items for an off-spec that is of some semi-regular benefit to the Raid. Off-spec is defined as a play-style completely different from the norm, so for a Warrior Tank DPS gear would be considered off-spec, and conversely a DPS Warrior would roll off-spec on tanking gear. Variants within the three major styles (DPS, Healing, Tanking) do not count as offspec (thus keeping with the Warrior example, a Dual Wield Fury Warrior could not roll off-spec for a 2h weapon).

iv. Raiders are expected to know their DKP and are expected to be somewhat familiar with the Instance Loot Table so as to avoid wasting time in looking up the total and deciding wether the item that dropped is desirable.

v. Players may secure raid drops used in crafted items (such as Nether Vortexes), by announcing their intention to the RL and spending DKP based on the total amount needed for the crafted item. All subsequent crafted item material drops will accrue to that player until they have enough to craft the item. If the player who secured the crafted item material cannot actually make the desired end product, a crafter must be present in the Raid to loot the item who agrees to make it for the player. Prices are 50 DKP for any belt for any class, and full DKP for weapons.

vi. Bind on Equip (BoE) crafting patterns (or recpies, plans etc) may be secured by spending 50 DKP. If no one claims it, the item will be placed in the Guild Bank, where it may be purchased for DKP. If it becomes apparent the item is not desired by Raiders and it sits in the Guild Bank for a long period, it will be sold, the proceeds going into general Guild funds. All BoE items must be used by the winner, and not otherwise sold or transferred.

vii. Bind on Pick Up (BoP) crafting patterns may be secured by those interested with a simple 1-100 roll, no DKP need be spent as is the case with BoE items.

viii. Class and Talent Restrictions may be applied to certain items that may be used by multiple classes, but benefit one class in particular more than others. For example, if a bow drops and a Hunter rolls 150-150 DKP and a Warrior rolls 225-225 DKP, the Hunter will receive the bow as it is their primary weapon. These restrictions are usually self-evident but in case they are not, the RL and/or GL reserves the right to make a binding decision.

ix. The Raid Leader and/or Guild Leader in extremely rare cases reserves the right to override the DKP system and reward an item to another player if it is determined it would be of greater benefit to the Guild or Raid as a whole.

x. As a general principle, Raiders have priority on loot. A Raider's rolls will trump that of a Member, Initiate or Alt, subject to the conditions listed in rule (viii) and (ix) in this Section.

xi. Rare Mounts and Legendary Weapons that drop in Instances are won by rolling 1-100, modified by attendance up to a maximum of 65 attendances. So if Player One has attended 25 raids, they would roll 25-100. If a person has attended 65 (or more) raids, they would roll 65-100.

xii. Players who feel they have been treated unfairly in their attempt to secure an item may briefly state their case to the RL at rolling time. Further and more detailed appeals must be made by Submitting an Issue on the Frontpage of the website. The contents of the issue submitted are only viewed by the GL and Officers.

xiii. PvP items (defined as items with the Resilience stat on them) have no DKP charge and are open rolls.
